I think they are called Nerzt? They are the threaded inserts they give you to install when your adding mopar parts (skid plates, rockrail, etc.). What has happened is I ordered a set of factory rockrails. They came in, where the wrong color and ended up being for a 2002 model KJ instead of the 2005. Anyways I tried to install them and got the drives side threaded inserts installed. The rails didn't fit. I sent them back and today I got in my replacement rockrails. I opened the box and discovered that the brackets and bolts where different. The new rockrail for the 2005 CRD use a U-shaped hook that slides in the holes in the frame. So here in lies the problem. I have installed eight threaded inserts in my drivers side frame. I now have to figure out how to remove all eight of those inserts so I can use the u-bolt things. Anyone have a clue how to remove those threaded inserts in the frame??? :?:

Who's fault was it you got the wrong rails? If it was the dealers fault I'd say it's the dealers problem.. those things weren't designed to be removed.

Try carefully grinding the head of the nutzert off with a side grinder.

I ordered them online so I really can't take it into the dealership. Anyone think I would really be messing up if I took a 1/2 drill bit to them? I have to use a 1/2 drill bit to drill the other four holes required to attach the brackets.

Just an update. I used a 1/2 drill bit to drill out the inserts. It worked just fine. It really didn't even mess up the hexagon shape of the hole. Just an FYI.
