What is the difference between a Renegade and Limited front bumper cover?

I know the sport models are textured. But I don't understand what the differences are between the limited and renegade versions.

I have an `04 Renegade that I need to replace the front bumper cover and have found the limited bumper covers are cheaper and appear to be the same in the pictures as the renegade. They have the same light layout as the renegade. They are smooth like the renegade.

I find it difficult that Jeep would make them vastly different from the model to model. They should mount the same.

Let me know your thoughts on this one. I find it hard to spend to almost twice the money for a supposed renegade version.

The renny bumper has a added piece, take notice that the renny has a extra brushed aluminum center section in the pic below that the Limited does not have.Besides that the bumpers are identical and either would work.

I never noticed that. Although my renegade doesn't have that added brushed aluminum piece either.

I guess that explains the extra holes that I have noticed on true renegade covers. I presume they are there for mounting the aluminum piece. I guess the additional of those holes is expensive. Like I said before Renegade covers cost about 2x over the Limited version.

Interesting...

I guess I will be buying a Limited cover. Thanks for the info.

The Limited and Renegade bumpers are the same except for the paint. The center section is silver paint, and not brushed aluminum.

I just went out to look at it again, and it does have a silver accent piece, BUT it's made of PLASTIC just like the rest of the bumper. At first glance it appears to be all one piece. :|

Just to set the record straight, we purchased our 2002 Silver Renegade new. There were only 3 colors of Renegade in 2002: Cactus, Khaki, and Silver. Only the Cactus and Khaki Renegades had the brushed metal looking piece on the front bumper. At least at the time ours was manufactured the Silver Renegades did not have that piece and had a bumper cover identical to the Limiteds. I liked that panel and wished ours had it, that's why I'm familiar with this. I suppose Jeep figured the color was so close to the silver paint that the accent effect was lost on a Silver Renegade.

I agree with Frozen North. My 2003 was silver, so it would have been pointless to put a silver fascia on it. The rear bumpers also came with the fascia under the spare tire on all the available colors but silver, as well.
