Hey folks. The auto transmission in my 06 Libby does some strange things sometimes. When I'm going up a hill at cruising speed it will shift UP into a higher gear rather than down.
Picture this. Headed up a hill right around 65 to 70 kph. Revs right around 1800, maybe 1900 rpm. Once the load of the hill slows my jeep down a bit, it'll shift UP into overdrive. Rpms drop to about 1000 to 1100 and it just sits there. It then needs A LOT of throttle input to get it to shift down. When it does shift, it heads right into 2nd gear sending the Revs to about 2500.
Is this a common thing or do I have a problem with my transmission?
Mine does that too. I live in the mountains and when I'm going up a hill at like 30-40 MPH (don't know what that is in KPH and don't feel like googling a converter

), it'll upshift. TBH, don't remember what RPM it does it. But I don't think it's the overdrive gear it's shifting into because I've tried shutting the overdrive off and it still does it. It's kind of annoying but I've gotten used to it. If I'm towing or going up a longer hill, I'll shift into 2nd.
