Your air-in-fuel problems will be history.

Just keep an eye on your lines and fittings for a few times of use, especially around the filter area. If you do have any unexpected leaks, filter head cracks, or whatever, they will show up now the whole thing is pressurized. The leaky (air) push-lock fittings should seal now though, since there is some pressure inside.

So very true! I thought that had been covered in several posts on the intank pump install?

New UCA ball joints and retorqued the rear UCA bolts to 80ftlbs. Seems to have minimized the amount of clunking in back. Also oil change/rotation

I replaced two lost fuel return line retaining clips. Still waiting on the new alternator to arrive.

129,500 miles: new injector seals and Bosch 5V glow plugs (still on the 7V programming, though). Definite butt dyno improvement; we'll see how starting improves tomorrow morning after it's been sitting all night.

Drove it last night and experienced a lot of squeaking. Something in the front suspension, also heard when rocking it side to side by grabbing the roof rack. My wife said, yeah; she had heard it too.

Jacked up the front end and sprayed all the joints with silicone spray. Done that before.

Quiet again for now. :)

In the past month:

Replaced the rear driveshaft U-joints again. Both of the ones that were installed towards the end of last Summer lost their grease fittings and annihilated themselves during a 1300-mile drive. Now have Spicer 5-1310X units in there, which will hopefully outlast my ownership of the vehicle.

Changed the oil and replaced the standard drain plug with a Fumoto drain valve. Am still attempting to unmate the old drain plug from the hex bit that was used to remove it.

Had a, 'this thing feels really sluggish today' moment a few days ago when the turbo surreptitiously decided to stop spinning up. Pulled codes: P0299 and P1252. Replaced the vacuum solenoid, vacuum modulator, and air filter for the various items that control turbo behaviour. All is well again.

The stereo (an older Kenwood unit) died in a rather spectacular fashion a couple of days ago: first it started sounding like a skipping CD but with static mixed into the audio, then just intermittent static before the audio cut out completely. The unit itself then began buzzing, which turned into a squeal, which turned into a pop and smell of burnt electronics. During all of this, the display was quite impressively freaking out, but that ended with the magic smoke escaping. About all I didn't get from the show were sparks and a fire; replaced the head unit with a Kenwood KMM-X503 media receiver which will hopefully not repeat the experience.

Replaced both front wheel hub assemblies with new units from Detroit Axle .
Finally got rid of that roaring noise I was beginning to hear at about 45 mph!

About $85 for the pair with new ABS sensors and cables on Amazon:> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019JC78T0
I sure some will find fault for not buying Timken, Moog, or SKF but the price difference is quite large and who knows for sure where bearings are made these days.

Have had very good results with this brand in the past; still running their CV joints & boots on the front driveshaft that I replaced back in 2013.
They looked as good as any hub I have ever replaced in the past. If they don't hold up or go the distance, I certainly will report.

Not a real hard job to replace them, only took about 30 minutes per side. Hardest part was locating and disconnecting/connecting the electrical connection for the ABS wire!

Technically, I won't be able to fit these until next week - the Midwest bomb cyclone means it's cold and wet here for the next several days, so can't paint these until it warms up again - but I did get these back from the welder this morning.

I'm looking forward to finally having front recovery points.

It's actually better in the flesh than in photos - what you're seeing is an artifact of the combination of my phone's camera and the lighting in our kitchen.

More info please? I was gone awhile. Did I miss a DIY or is this your design?

Totally not my design at all; I'm just replicating what other folks have done. Check the following threads for details:

viewtopic.php?f=59&t=65109&start=0

Got them painted today; now waiting for the next round of rain to pass so that I can fit them. Gotta love the Springtime...
