Well I think the pics say it all. So the wife got distracted and over corrected going 75mph on the freeway. She rolled it twice. Both she and the kids (6 months and 3) literally walked away and were not even treated for injuries. No one even complained of soreness the next day. Everyone was wearing there seatbelts and was sitting on the drivers side of the vehicle. I was the only witness to the crash and the Libby went 10-15 feet into the air during the rollover. Everyone was very lucky. Currently, I am still wait ing to hear back from the insurance but I sure it's totalled. Here are a few pics. So what should I expect back from the insurance. It has 50k miles and 6K in offroad parts since May of 2007. I was thinking 23K-24k.

That looks like a pretty desolate strip of road... were you following the KJ?

 Amazing and great to hear everyone is Ok. I am always amazed at how well KJ's hold up in roll overs especially at high speeds. Amazing how the rear bumper doesn't even looked tweaked.

Wow, looks like it held up really well.
I am also glad that everyone walked away without injuries. It could have been much worse at that speed.

Amazing that all are OK. I guess the stuff about the KJ having a good safety rating is correct.

With that in mind, are y'all going to consider getting another KJ to replace it?

Glad to hear everyone is alright...that is a for sure total. see if you can buy it back form the insurance company and then part out the remains if you so choose to get a downpayment going a new rig of your choice. Sad to see it go like that after watching all your build up threads for the bumpers and such, but it is always good to hug and kiss the loved ones at night too. Best Wishes!!!!

Thank goodness your kids were on the drivers side. The passenger side roof looks bad. Glad all are safe.

Now for that KJ. Totaled. Buy it back for the parts unless you plan to get a KK now....or the JK. Might be hard to find a used KJ CRD if that is what you want again.

Yeah the rear bumper was a little scuffed but it did not appear to be damaged in the accident. I was really impressed with it. That was the first thing that caught my eye as well when I was examining the wreck.

Well I already got a new rig. Actually kind of ironic because we had just purchased a '96 Lexus LX 450 about an hour before she rolled the KJ. I actually saw it all in the rear veiw mirror. It was kind of like a really bad dream. As parts go I may not get a whole lot back from the insurance co. because I think it's a total loss and we are looking at the 23-23k range for the entire vehicle. I do have an ORM kit that has never been put togeather, a few skids, and maybe some super sliders. Anyway....

I had no intensions of parting with the liberty and the LX was just going to become a hard core offroad monster with 35's if you can imagine that. Well now the Lexus will have to pull daily driver and offroad duty. I really like ths thing. I used to own one but I forgot how nice they are and how amazing they are offroad. See ya'll in Moab...

Glad everyone is ok.

You should be able to buy the KJ back at salvage 10-20% of the payout price the insurance gives you. Then you could look at what is salvageable and can be sold to pay for the buyback of the jeep. Sell the CRD, computer, and tranny for enough to pay for buying back the KJ... What cannot be sold for parts, sell as scrap to the junk yard.
