G'day Chip,

Any progress on the rear bumper? I'm pretty interested (like many here) in a rear bumper with swing away spare carrier. We will be moving back home to Santa Fe in one month and I'd love to have one of these on my rig!

Cheers,

Chamba

The prototype #1 was the only one built
so you may have to wait a long time

Bugger. That was probably the nicest bumper I've seen. I also like that it is aluminium as it would be far lighter than the steel version would be. I'm all about mileage in my CRD so I like the idea of light weight accessories. I hope he gets around to building more.

i tried to buy/commission a build a few months ago... Boiler seemed to be very busy and said 'maybe' in the spring. Doesn't sound too hopeful. :( it is an awesome bumper.

That was the nicest rear bumper Ive seen for the KJ. I was hoping Boiler would make a matching front bumper. I really like the idea of it being lighter weight with aluminum.

You think the aluminum was thin enough were it wouldn't hold up? I know aluminum is a much softer metal but if designed well, it can be build very strong structures

But his didn't save that much really

If I remember correctly, Boiler’s rear bumper wasn’t much lighter than Rock Lizard’s rear bumper. And as for the appearance, I thought the Boiler and Rock Lizard bumpers looked very similar. RL also makes a light duty bumper if you don't want the added weight.
