can't say for the CRD, but my 3.7 is good to 90+. I don't plan on going above 80-85 now that it's lifted, but prior to the lift, she felt right at home in the upper 80's (on the stock GY SR-A's).

All u speeders, hitting the govenor is not fun, its instantaneous power loss, almost like hitting a wall. It'll catch by surprise if ur not ready for it!! But in Ga= 65-70mph i usually stick to 80, its what everyone else is doing so that makes it ok! I'm starting to get a little bounce in the front end recently, i wonder if i need new struts, shocks?

My KJ used to shutter at 75-80 until she got used to the high speeds. Now the KJ handles reasonably well at 75+. Do need new tires though.

Just FYI - Most of the rural freeways outside of metro Phoenix are 75mph.

Yeah, but that 75 is a suggested minimum. Too bad everyone seems to wander to the left lane.

I drive a 2002 3.7 Sport and have taken it to 102mph indicated quite a few times on long distance travels. I have to say I was amazed at how stable it is at that speed, with no shakes, wobbles or hums. That said, it only holds true for long straight as a ruler roads. I have changed the Goodyears to Cooper A/T Discovers. With the Goodyears it sounded as if I had a busted wheel bearing. The drone became unbearable at speeds over 50mph.

When it comes to twisties it is a total different story. One of our favourite holiday destinations is along a road called the Garden route - lots of sweeping corners, quite a few sharp ones and hundreds of hills. I used to do this route with my Audi stationwagon and Alfa, and with these types of vehicles the road is a driver's pleasure. With the Jeep though it was a bit of a nightmare and I had quite a few seat wetting experiences, with one particular corner nearly being a total disaster. I really had to adjust my driving style. Our freeways speeds are 75mph, but in this route I dropped to btw 50 - 55mph.

Actually it's not... If your vehicle cannot perform the posted speed limit or keep with the flow of traffic then you can expect a ticket from one of my brethren for impeding the flow of traffic.

Motor's can be so mean at times.
