Maybe a leak, but you probably would have noticed that. I've had two different thermostats actually stick shut and cause overheating with one actual overflow.

With 60K your hoses should still have life, but...if you can afford to change the hoses, new thermostat, new coolant and be sure to repace the hose clamps with real hose clamps. Do it all at once.

Did you figure out what was going on?

Check the rad for built up mud.

Also, the tstat is on the lower rad hose, not the upper. Its in the plastic housing where the rad connects to the engine.

i would, hoses, t-stat, and the obvious, the coolant when doing that stuff. i was wondering how those hoses were at all-j's, those blue ones they have on thier page
