I just had a thought. It might be stupid but have you changed the spark plugs? If you have a miss fire, could it be as simple as a plug wire short or a cracked plug?

Not always a coil.

I got the code for misfire in #2 as expected, and also
P0355 Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction.

I also got misfire in #5. But I guess that's gonna happen when one forgets to PLUG THE COIL IN! oops.

Now that I got back from my son's practice, I double checked all connections and fired the ol' KJ up. Ran smoothly and flawlessly. I drove it around until fully warmed up. Still smooth.

Hopefully it'll stay that way.

$50 worth of coil & plugs, plus I cleaned out the K&N while I was in there, which was FILTHLY, and she's ready for action. Maybe I'll keep the KJ another 80k miles afterall
