im not understanding how you guys are having this problem. i have 107674 miles on my KJ and i have yet to replace anything as far as window regulators. now as i type this i am sure that my regs will fail soon.
It's more of a '05+ KJ problem due to a cheaper regulator design then the older KJ's.

'02 KJ's rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better tranny and better window regulators 8)

I do have to admit that my 02 was a better KJ in some respects. Especially when I put it in low 1st gear!!! :D She would really crawl.

Probably because there are none left. They have already been used to replace the crap regulators in the 05+ KJs.

All 4 of my windows are terribly slow going up. Would I call them "noisy"? Only the passenger rear. Does this have anything to do with what you guys are discussing?

My drivers side went. I was told by local Jeep hospital that it would only cost me 385.00 to correct. A "fix" i did was I wait till window about half way down the hold my hand on top so it stays on track till down.

Chief BK I don't know about the others but mine made a lot of noise for a while before it went out. The other front one is making the same noise. When I told the service manager that he said it would go also. His advice: "don't use it".

One morning after coming back from a night out in Ohio (put windows up that night just before turning KJ off), I jump in the KJ and push the switches for the windows. Nothing. Nada. All of the windows were dead. First thought, fuse. Went looking and found the fuse. Yep, blown. Went to auto store and replaced. No issue so far (two weeks now). Not sure why and how it blew especially since I had just put them up prior to shutting off the KJ. Just glad that is all it was. I bought a spare fuse. It would've sucked if the fuse had blown at 3am before I could get the windows up and having it parked at my parents. I can't trust the neighborhood.

Put some WD40 along the window tracks. It will help the window to move easier and take some of the strain off the POS regulator.

Apparently this guy has figured out how to repair them. Doubt if he'll share, but it might be cheaper than going through the dealer:

Didn't look long enough to see what his shipping rates were, but I think I'll stick with the one from the dealer! They are only $1.50 more, not remanufactured, and 1 year warranty... I do have to pay tax though...

Does anybody have their broken ones? We need one of our more technically savvy members to rip some broken ones apart and diagnose the problem. If its the same part failing in every regulator it should be fairly straight forward to repair (at least I think it would be :? ).

I have a broken one that is getting pulled out soon... I'll figure something out... even if it's only how to dismantle one beyond any hope of repair
