I had heard they changed the Regs that you aren't suppose to do mouth to mouth anymore... apparently they found it didn't help as much.
Was Qualified at one time been over the two years so I need a ReQual...

PS. Good idea for the club!
The move towards not teaching mouth to mouth in BLS for 'the public' was based on research which showed that a high percentage of people didn't do it anyway as they were concerned about direct contact with a stranger.....although it is still mandatory in ALS teaching. CPR training for the masses in the UK tends to focus on chest compressions and early AED use...since we have a target time of paramedic at patients side of 8 minutes from time of call.
As a newcomer to the list I think its great that so many of you guys have taken the time to pick up the skills! Very well done and thanks on behalf of the EMS community
BTW a bit about me: ICU Specialist, British Army Doctor, ALS Instructor, Combat Casualty Care Inst, HEMS Doc, UK ambulance service Doc...and lots more!
ps. for the military guys on the list....our experiences in Op Telic esp. some of the roadside casualties around Basra has changed the way we teach casualty assessment to the troops. We used to teach ABC...whereas now we teach Major Haemorrhage,ABC. We found we were losing a few guys using the old technique..on the basis that its no use resuscitating a blood empty body
