OK........Talked to the wife and she couldn't argure with the price since she just went out and spent $60 at Victoria Secrets. I'm not complaining but made for a nice segue when she told me.

OK.....where do I buy the hardware to mount this on my stock rails?????

What is the best way to mount it on a non-Renni?

but is the rack wide enough to go link up with a U-bolt, I would be intrested to see how someone else has done this...

I bought mine back in October 2004 for about $120. It works great. I had it packed with stuff on a round trip of 2,600 mile trip from Denver to central Ohio. I bought an elastic web netting from either Thule or Yakima (can't remember) and protected everything from flying off.

I have to measure the rack on my sport, but I figure I can combine this, the sport rack and a my yakima fairing for a decent setup.
These are $65 on overstock now.

Mine finally showed up. Too easy to install and looks pretty good. I also noticed that with the basket on, the wind howl with just the cross bars is gone. Interesting...Anyway, I'll try and get some pics this weekend. I tried the other night but it was just dark enough to make the flash work and they looked like crap.

And best of all the wifeboss likes the look... :D

Next up...frankenlift

I got one. I won't be mounting it up until the week before Moab becuase I can't fit into my garage with it anyhow. With my mopar cross-rails on, I have about 1/2 inch or less between the rails and the garage door lip after the frankenlift and MT/Rs.

I guess it is a good thing I don't have a Frankie for a lift. I can get into my garage but barely, with the Rusty's lift. I would not be happy if I couldn't get my KJ into the garage with the roof rack. I am also glad I didn't get one of those large racks because I would not be able to get into the garage with those racks either.

I installed mine last week, and my KJ still fits in my garage easily.

I have mixed feelings about this rack--it's kind of "cute"...but it's exactly what I was looking for: A light-weight, low-profile rack that I can throw a few bags in on trips with the family. I may put a gas can up there some day, but if I ever get a hi-lift I plan to keep it under the passenger seats.

Overall I think I'm pretty happy with it--and you certainly can't beat the price. Especially since Brian Larson (a former KJ owner) gave me his crossbars.

Got mine installed Saturday. I have $63 invested in the basket shipped to my door, and $9 bucks invested in hardware to fabricate cross rails. So I've got around $70 bucks or so invested in the entire project..and considering that most baskets are $200 and up...I am VERY happy.

I'll get some pics later.

Its an old old thread, but it came up in a :google: search while I was looking to get a price on the extension piece for this rack. About 2 years ago I bought one off another forum's classifieds... I have decided that it is time to start looking for an extension, but I can not find any info on it. I cant even find the companies website anymore.

Can anyone help or post a link to where the extension can be found??

Wow! Wish I would've seen this post when it was new. Just today I go the final touches (maybe...) done on a roof rack project for my Renny.
