you don't need or want longer ones
I had a similar noise about two months ago, it was the passenger side CV and intermediate shaft, all rusted etc. Intermediate shaft is dealer only item, ( thank goodness I bought a new one for 50 bucks from another member! ) outer CV cheap from NAPA 55/60 bucks get a reman'ed one
JeepinbyAl does have cut ones available but unless you go over 4 inches not needed. Mine lasted over 95,000 miles lifted over 3.5 inches

Just wondering: What am I doing wrong, or what are YOU doing right?(95k on one set of CVs is very good) I've had my CVs replaced 3 times, and I only have 98k on the odometer, with only light 4 wheeling. Is it the 3500lb. camper I tow, 3 to 4x a year?

Some go sooner than later, On 03CDKJ's his went at 145000 or so I think it was , I have towed a trailer at least 15000 miles or more as well so thats not it. Like anything mechanical it may break/ wearout/rust in 1000 miles or 100,000 miles

Clearly the issue was the stub shaft at the CV joint, broken inside and rattling.

The dealership reviewed the warranty again and decided to honor it. Wonderful. I told them clearly I had owned 3 Jeeps and my wife is on her 2nd so if they wanted me as a continued customer they should consider all the facts. One winning point on trying to blame it on the lift was from Mr. Mudd. 95K with a 1" taller lift and his didn't fall apart.

THANKS for the feedback!

Good to hear that there are some good dealerships out there. Glad you got it fixed. Only way to thank them now is to send them some business, the service dept that is. Sometimes the saving grace of many a crappy dealership. Good luck.
