I'm completely aware of what it's like to own a P.O.S and having to constantly repair it while still paying the loan on it.

Mine was a 1994 Chevy S10 4WD Ext Cab. In the 5 years I owned it I replaced the following. This is just the stuff I can remember.

Ball Joints Upper Lower Both Sides
ABS Sensor Front - Both Side
Tie Rod's End -Inner Outer
Pitman Arm
Torsion Bar Mounts - Rear Both Sides
Fuel Injection Assembly - Twice
Engine @ 60,000 Miles - Lower End blown out as a result of Fuel Injections dumping raw gas into crankcase. Thinned everything out and Boom
Windshield Wiper Motor
Seat Recliners for both seats Just snapped in my hands
Door Crank Snapped off.
Transmission @ 120,000 miles

The final straw was the tranny. It blew it's brains out the night before my wedding coming home from work about a mile from my house. I always babied this thing and never took it off-road but was my daily driver and most of the mileage was highway. It just seemed when it was running something in the interior was breaking or failing. I had trucks before this thing that I never had to put this much time money and effort in it to just to keep it on the road. So I agree there are P.O.S. in every model lineup. Sometime you just get screwed.

After the tranny went, I bought a 99 Silverado 4wd, regular cab. I only had that for about 2 years and it seemed ok. But I traded it in when I took a job about 40 miles from my house and needed a car for the long commute. I currently drive a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2 with 120,000 miles on it now and other than replacing the pads and fluids in it. I have had ZERO problems with it. My wife currently drives a 2001 Dodge Neon. She's owned it for 7 years and we have had ZERO problems with this one either. Currently has 119,000 miles on it.
