None as far as I know. Maybe if you call Chrysler they can give you some more info. The TSB only covers '06 and '07.

soooo my 06 that has 45k on it has never had a window fail.. should i call and have them add the extended warranty to mine so when they DO fail i'm covered? or wait till they fail then deal with it?

2006-2007 had a different regulator attachment to the glass pane (it was an attempt to fix the original problem that also failed).

Sounds like they have finally made a real fix to that style, but the 2002-2005 regulators still get replaced as a unit.

I have had 12 replacements on my 2004. Dealer can not cover them unless Chrysler gives authorization so start with calling Chrysler, then take it in to dealer for free replacement.

Is it the steiger part from the steiger website, or is jeep making their own similar part?

What year is your KJ? This TSB just came out on the 4th of this month. When did you talk to your dealer? I was told this only applies to 06-07 KJ's. Call Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997 and see what they have to say.


It's an 06 and the conversation was today. I have powertrain only warranty.

This letter is to inform you that the warranty period has been extended for Window Lift Plate repairs on your Chrysler Group LLC Jeep Liberty to 7 years from the vehicles original in service date with no mileage limitation. The extended warranty coverage applies to Jeep Liberty model years 2006-2007.

We are extending the warranty period for Window Lift Plate repairs because some vehicles have experienced repeat concerns with window components. If your vehicle is operating properly, there is nothing you are required to do. If you are experiencing the conditions as described in this warranty extension within 7 years from the vehicle's in service date, simplycontact your dealer to have the repairs performed. Your dealer will inspect the window regulators for proper operation and repair if necessary.

If you have already experienced this window regulator concern and have paid to have it repaired, you may be eligible to receive a reimbursement. You may complete the enclosed Customer Reimbursement Claim Form and send your original receipts, invoices, and/or repair order to the following address for reimbursement. Your claim will be acted upon within 60 days of receipt:

Interesting, how do i establish the build date, as my date of purchase in my service manual is February 2006 and i was wondering if the dealer would use that
date. Is it perhaps using the VIN number?
