I went to AutoZone today, and the computer said OEM was double platinum.. so I didn't buy anything yet.

Is that possible?

When I go back I'll have them run the 2006 and see what it says.

nope, OEM is NGK regular old copper cores. That is all I run in all of my KJs and have had no issues .

Replaced the NGK's with Autolite coppers myself based upon recommendations here.
I'd like to try plats or iridiums at some point just to see the difference.

When I had my #3 valve replaced (P0303 code) the service manager said to run Champions over Iridiums. Said they were having problems in the KJ's with the NGK's.

I was looking at the platinums initially. But if you can run a $1 spark plug with absolutely no problems, why spend 4x as much for one that may run the same, or worse.

Anybody test those expensive E3 sparkplug? (Part: E3.48) Astin Martin Vanquish V12 use the same plug! I think they got a Kryptonite core! (That explain the green logo)Under $6 each for pure crap...

I use Bosh in car/truck and Champion in my generator, landmower tractor, snowblower... every single little gas engine I own. Never complain about it, they works flawlestly.

Just gonna throw it out there. I switched over to e3 diamond fire plugs about 2 years ago.
I love them. Reliable and didnt have to nor will I have to worry about gapping.

I'd buy them again too.

I bought a set of e3s but have since replaced them. No specific running complaints; my 2002 suffered a significant loss in mileage this past year but not immediately after installing them. I replaced them with Autolite Copper plugs 3 weeks ago and noted a distinct improvement in engine smoothness, though so far (in all city driving) mileage has not changed. But they also just switched to EPA mandated winter blend and that _always_ costs me 15-20% in mileage so maybe it did help.

The E3s came out showing normal discoloration on the electrodes but four had severe discoloration on the insulator above the hex metal collar, almost as if they were leaking a bit, and tow of the coils had nasty rusty-brown spooge on the tips that needed to be cleaned off. It was not just oil or engine effluvia and the plugs I pulled to put the E3s in did not have the discoloration.

FWIW I pulled the plugs last weekend and the insulators and coils are clean after 2 weeks of running so I think it really was blowby through the E3s.

Never again.
