I've always thought the KK would look cool done up like this as well.

Detoures makes chassis stiffeners with rock sliders welded to them for the XJ. Something like that would be perfect to reinforce the uniframe.

Why is anyone surprised they don't make a truck these days? They seem to be phasing out the U in SUV in most of the line up! It looks to me they are steering the majority of the line to a crossover platform. Unfortunate to say the least. :frankie:

Wouldn't you think the brainiacs would keep to their roots in a unique niche?

Seen the new trucks. Big cars with little beds on them.
Friend got a Dodge 2012 (3?) 4x4 it will hit parking curbs it's so low. His wife hates how low it is and told him lift it or get the old truck back.

My Pa bought a new Ram with the Hemi about 3 years ago. He is still telling me the ways his 95 Ram was superior. I think he likes the engine, chrome, and smooth ride (after all he is almost 75), but thats about it

According to Dodge, there’s a market for a small pickup. The rumor is that they have one scheduled to be released in 2015. It will be built in Mexico, and this is not the Dakota replacement, but a smaller truck.

Our Jeep dealership sells the Wrangler truck conversion kit. They are sitting out on the lots.

All of the dealers were required to build some of those
Of course most are sitting on the lots with deep discounts around here

There is a need for a "mini" pickup like what used to be be built back in the day of Chev. Luvs, Ford Couriers , etc

The Wrangler truck conversions are pretty popular here. The guys who build them at the dealership have a hard time keeping up on them. I got to briefly watch them do a conversion. There's actually a lot of welding involved and the conversion takes a fair amount of time to do. They have also sold several Wrangler diesel conversions.

Yep, and that's about the size of the new Dodge truck, it will be a unibody though.

I think the one dealership had 10-12,000 off trying to unload it here
Of course looking at it up close I wouldn't give even the discounted price.
Lots of things that look poorly designed, wasn't impressed by it at all.

As a matter of fact the poor thing is STILL sitting there even after they moved it to the front steps..............at even more of a discount also :ROTFL:

Maybe if they had a real body shop do the work it would of moved by now but their body shop just plain stinks. Look at what they did to my poor KJ :banghead:

Yes, there's a lot of money out here. But this is also Jeep country, so there’s a healthy crowd of people who would rather drive a Jeep than a Land Rover, Lexus or Mercedes SUV.

They had two on the lot the last time I was there (Crush and Flame Red), both were gone two weeks later. I asked Sarah what she thought, and she didn’t like them nor found them to be practical. She grew up on a ranch, so in her mind, a truck is only a full sized truck, lol. Her comment: “You can’t carry very many bales of hay or firewood in that”
