I wouldn't bother mixing coolant 50/50, just top it off to the full line with straight up hoat. I don't think you would have a problem filling coolant while the engine is warm, as long as you do it at the tank near the firewall, and NOT at the radiator (heat + liquid = pressurized hot liquid, which will melt your face)

manual says to not add coolant when hot/warmed. do I add it when it's cold? it looks to be below the cold fill line anyhow. so does the PS fluid.

Leave the reservoir cap off and get it warm, don't care what the manual says, and top it off. When warm the thermostat will be open and the coolant will be flowing through out the system, if low, top off to full line on reservoir. What ya don't want to do is open the radiator cap itself while it's warm, a face full of coolant under pressure sucks.

So I had a service guy help me add the coolant and I poured the ATF4 in the PS fluid bottle.

Sucks not being able to wrench good on the Jeep.

This is what I looked like Thursday in recovery. Still plotting what to do with my mom, who took the pic.

Well since I know the radiator has a possible crack in it and the PS hoses probably need changed, I will just keep adding fluid (if both get low again)....UNTIL I can get the parts to have it fixed. While I was paying for my HOAT Coolant and ATF4 at the dealership, I asked for a quote on a radiator. $300 for a new one w/o the hoses....

I think I could get away with putting one from Autozone in it. Might see what CARQUEST, Napa and O'Reilly's charges for a new radiator.

The mechanic who put on my A/C Compressor will be the one doing the labor for the radiator and PS stuff.

Hart, I do not recall my mother taking that picture...All I remember is them trying to wake me up and trying to get me to lay on my back to wake up more...I didn't like that at all and pitched a fit. Anesthesia affects me differently than most people...I usually wake up crying. LOL

Heard the radiator "hissing" today. There is a leak/hole somewhere. I added a little more coolant today. Will add some tomorrow. Best thing I can do is keep Coolant with me while traveling and add as needed. Until I can get a new radiator.

If you don't like the fact that your mom took the pic, why post it here?

Jeep quit leaking fluids. Not sure what is up with it. I'm still going to replace the radiator when I get the money.

I'd spend the extra coin and pick one up from the dealership.

I have a friend up around Columbus, OH that works at a Jeep dealership. I will get one through him and have it shipped to the dealership down here. On my own a new radiator through the dealership is $300 plus.
