i dont understand why they dont just have the sport and limited but then the option for Renegade option or CRD option.. wtf.. easy done in the factory.. this is stupid for them to discontinue them :( i love my Renegade..

What is DC thinking, seriously...

So 2005-2006 we have the sport, limited, renegade, and they decide "that's not enough, we need more models" so they make the pointless models of Rocky Mountain and 65th Anniversary Sport Edition which are really just very slight changes to existing models. And now they decide that they have too many models, so they cut all of them back off.

This makes me even more nervous that the patriot will take over the liberty. Patriot is being marketed as offroad despite having even smaller tires than the liberty. If they cut the Renegade line (the icon for the Liberty is the renegade with the roof lights), it's hard to believe they are marketing it as offroad still.

Our regulations are really hypocritical. The governement yells at manufacturers for not getting good enough gas mileage, and when they correct that with a diesel, then they get yelled at for environmental regs that are extreme.

Well I wouldn't go as far as saying all of that, BIG OIL is in bed with the government and auto manufacturers... they're probably more of a driving factor behind paying off automakers so that MPG standards for them stay low while using their political connections to keep the governments "push for better MPG" nothing more than a bunch of barking.

If the EPA and treehuggers were smart they'd demand that more diesels be brought to North America from Europe. French companies Peugot and Citeron are both doing some spectacular things currently as far as reducing diesel emmissions, Bosch is planning to create 2,500 bar common rail injection system which would GREATLY improve emmissions and overall effientcy.

Gassers typically put off far more emmissions per mile than diesels, the EPA's testing system for emmissions is pure BS (just like their MPG testing). I'm all for protecting the envirmonment but the EPA (like most government agencies) needs to pull their heads out of their arses and stop slighting diesel technology from advancing in America :x
