Keep us updated! I want one, even if I have to go to war for another year to afford it!

Should have a couple really good updates after this weekend and next. I'm planning the final install on memorial day, with the next weekend as the contingency.

Congratulations Boiler -- fine job. I hope you're able to enjoy making an awesome bumper for your KJ. Just don't let it seem like "a job" if at all possible.

Cool 8)

TBH this first one was kind of a nightmare, just a lot to figure out and do. After the second one (trying out our small changes) hopefully it will be nailed down and we'll be able to bang them out with relative ease (ie: a day).

Ah yes, but what we really need are people who'll make stuff for the KJ which is superbly designed, built from the very best materials to a top notch standard, and which costs $100-150 including packaging and delivery - THEN you'll get the take-up :-)r

Well we're hoping to finish up the fab work tonight, but I fear it will bleed into tomorrow. Which is a problem because I need to get it powdercoated tomorrow...Either way we're attempting to install it Monday. Then it's back to the drawing board!

Well our welder was acting fussy yesterday, we lost 2 hours welding and had to finish it tonight. We wouldn't have gotten done anyway, as it took us about 8 hours tonight. So, 4 months, about 100 hours of prefab time, and 30-40 hours of scratching our heads, burning myself, welding, & grinding, and it is done. I'm taking it to powder coat tomorrow in hopes that they take pity on me and run my color out of turn so that I can install it on Matts jeep on Memorial day. Was way too tired for pictures so maybe Monday...

Here are some pictures of the first prototype installed on Matt's KJ. We still owe him a few little things and we've still got a lot of work to do to make it viable cost wise. I've got plans for cost savings that should get us into these ranges cost wise:

Basic bumper: $750-$950
Swing Arm with tire carrier: $250-$350
High Lift mount: $65ish
Jerrycan Mount: $65ish (works with Blitz can & holder, appx $70, not included)
Light bezels and mount: $125-$175. Only work with PIAA 1400's (approx. $180, not included)
Integrated Hitch: $200-$350
Total fully loaded: $1455-$1955

Shipping is estimated to be $100-$250, depending on location and option level.

I know it is a wide range, but it is just an estimate for now, to allow some of you that have expressed interest to do some planning. I'm currently working on the design nightly to refine it and make it more economical, but it will look and function the same as his prototype. Once I have the design refined, I'll make a 2nd bumper, time everything, and come up with final pricing. I'd be willing to sell the 2nd bumper (money talks) but currently it is slated to go onto my Jeep.

That's the Cactus Green, isn't it? I looked at one of those on the dealers lot back in '04. I always did like the "unique" colors on a Jeep. Man...that is sharp. :JEEPIN:

So anyway, yeh that rear bumper looks fantastic and I would possibly be interested. Well, I would DEFINITELY be interested...it's just a matter of coming up with several hundred dollars for something that the wife says I don't "need".
