Post subject:  Help. Remote Control Jeep Toy

For his 5th birthday my grandson wants an R/C Jeep toy that he can "crawl" around in the gravel bed at his house. Need some help finding one and getting recommendations.

Prefer and XJ as that's what he, my son, and I built as a team but will settle for what I can find.

www.towerhobby.com

A little expensive, $83.00 -> http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... LXKEK4&P=7

There are other cheaper ready-made Nikko's and the likes. The other end of the spectrum is a custom made vehicle based on a popular chasis like Traxxas, put on a lexan body and you can customize it with anything you want from motor to radio :D

This Rubicon body looks sweet -> http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... LXGTE7&P=7

Toys are Us. They have the KJ in red, black, green, blue and renny model as well. If you get one you just have to put some LOST KJ stickers on it. Has hi speed for fun and low speed for crawling. later...Clint

Oh, yeah baby! If only a real KJ would fit those tires.

Shoot, if they gotta red one I'll get it for myself.

OK now THAT is one kick-butt KJ R/C model. Does it use standard quick-disconnect battery pack? Will go check it out.

That is cool.

I wonder what the guy who designed this toy was thinking when he included a stock hard shell tire cover? LMAO....

I have the hard shell on my Rennie. It's actually a hard front and circumference with a canvas rear to cinch it over the back of the tire.

You guys totally missed my point. I was referring to the stock size tire cover on the toy KJ. Makes no sense to carry a stock spare with those monster krawler tires on all four corners.

Could you imagine a full size tire on the back of that thing? :lol:

Sorry about that Hammer... Yea I have worried about having a flat and having to use that small spare tire. Maybe it is a space saver tire. Sorry I just had to say that. later...clint
