Post subject:  Rear Cargo Area Liner

Hey all,

Newbie here,

I've been searching around for the answer to my question, but couldn't find it. I am looking to put a liner in the cargo area of my 03' jeep liberty limited. I want one that goes up the backs of the rear seats. I am looking for any suggestions this wonderful community may have to offer.

If anyone has any pictures, that would be great. I am currently interested in the mopar one, and a cordura one I saw somewhere.

Thanks everyone,

Jon

P.S. I'll look around a bit before asking about lift kits....

A plastic/rubber tray, or like a removable flexible carpet or rubber one?

The mopar "liner" is flexible rubber that covers the cargo area and up the back seats. It's just under $100 at jparts.

The mopar "tray" is more of a solid plastic/rubber tray that just covers the cargo area. It has cutouts to allow you to use the tie downs in the floor, and has a lipped edge around it so it can fill with mud/water/etc and not leak. Cost is about $80 from jparts.

There is also a cargo-organizer for around $180, it's a hard plastic movable shelf for the cargo area.

I assume you're looking for the liner?

Thanks for the quick response.

I am looking for the flexible type liner. One that can fold with the rear seats. I guess I am just looking for some pictures, and/or some peoples opinions between the mopar "rubber" one, and the various cordura ones.

Thanks,

Jon

Thanks Jeppjeepster.

I have seen those pics, but I was hoping someone might have some pictures that you actually see what the thing looks like. Anybody have the MOPAR one? What do you think of it?

Here is the one that came with my KJ:

But I don't think it is what you are looking for since it doesn't cover the back seat except for a 2"lip.

Hope it helps.

I have the one in the last pic. I actually bought the Husky one, not the Jeep one. The only difference is that while the Jeep one has raised areas for the popouts for the cargo tiedowns, the Husky one has just outlines that u would have to cut yourself. As I never use the tiedowns I like the flatter mat. I could always cut them if I needed them. I looked at the "Cargo Area, Folding Protector Mat(2002-2006)" and all it really is is a thick chunk of flat black rubber with no lip cut to fit the cargo area and up onto the split seats. While it would work great for hard parts (protects the seat backs from damage), If u r going to put anything wet in, I would suggest the mat above since it has the lip and can be pulled out and hosed out easy. For the optimum protection I guess you could use both.

For more pics see page 5 of my CarDomain site.

Here's one that covers the entire floor and seat backs and looks like it removes easier:

This is not a Mopar/Jeep brand cargo tray, but the fit looks good and the price is fair. Plus, it's the only one I've ever seen that covers the seatbacks. It's all one piece too, which I think would be better than 2 separate pieces.

I dont have this but I though about getting it and you cant beat the price. I wound up with a Husky liner and just use a sheet or a tarp or something if I have to line the rest.[/url]

Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions. The canvasback one is closest to what I am looking for. I have a dog, and I want something that covers the seatbacks as well. I think I might just try the mopar one. I'll post pics when I get one to show everyone.

Thanks again,

Jon

They are on ebay all the time, I have been looking at them for months. I was going to buy one but then received the Husky as a gift and felt guilty not using it.

I still might pick one up eventually, I'm finding that I need it more and more now.

MNGSP - Good lucK!
