did this website have to contact volcano records for permission to use the intro music by the band tool on lostkjs.com ?

im wanting to use a clip of music on a website im trying to get up and running, wanted to know how that worked.

Hey there,
Go ahead and use the music clip you want to use. If/When you get C&D order to stop playing the clip, then take it off and use a different clip from a different band. Also, some bands (like Tool) are very lax about this sort of thing.
