| Post subject: | Clicking Steering Column |
Hello Everyone, My New '05 Renegade has a clicking noise in the steering column. 1 or 2 clicks per turn. It happens more after sitting in the sun and seems to happen at different positions while steering. Funny thing is... I had a Jeep Commanche 4x4 that I think had the same clicking. Do all KJ's or Jeeps have this noise? Or, am I crazy? Any ideas what is causing it or how to fix it? Christopher |

If it is the turn signal mech... It is happening when the signal is not being used. It will click once or twice just by turning the wheel from side to side. I think it has gotten quiet'er over the last couple of weeks. My Renny was manufactured 6/05. Christopher |

My 97 TJ did the same thing, the turnsignal switch/lever assembly had popped loose. should be an easy warranty item to get it replaced |

I had that on 2002 kj. The dealer said it was a broken steering column. They took in and it was clicking, I got back and it wasn't. That's all I know Ian |
