Never seen it called a clinometer, only an inclinometer. They both measure angles of elevation, so i guess its the same thing.

What are the wires for? Lights or something? Or is it electronic and doesnt work like the old ones? The best place to get a + feed is from the fuse panal on the drivers side of the dash. There is alittle cover that you pull off. You can buy something called an "add-a-circut" that will take one of the fuses out and let you add another circut. Since that little thing doesnt pull much current, its ok to use this. If you cannot find one of those like I couldnt, then it should be ok take take a fuse out and stick the wire in the hole then stick the fuse back in. To get a negative feed, you can hook on to the body anywhere to get a ground. Just find a little bolt or something and take it off. Sand the area realy good to make sure the ground is good and tie into it there. Good luck!! :)

the wires are just for a backlight i guess. where do i get a ground off of that wire though??? don't both of the wires have to be plugged in where a fuse goes . and where would i find this add a fuse thing you are talking about??

thank you

No, do not plug both of those into the fuse. The fuse is the positive side and the frame is the negative side. You can get one of those add a fuse's at an auto parts store. Mine had one but it was for the normal size fuses, ours are the mini fuses.

Any bare spot on the frame will supply you with a ground. Be careful with that wiring, you can really screw some stuff up if you short something out and its not protected with a fuse.

Here's an example of the add a fuse.

Show us a pics of the inclineometer and the wires.

Remember Red is Hot and Black is ground.

both of the wires are black. it is like 2 wires in one until the end and then they split into two. they look exactly like the wires that would plug in to the back of a speaker that you have to push the tabs up and then the wires go in. it is the same inclinometer as the one in 4wheel drive parts where it has the picture of a jeep wrangler on it and one is roll and one is tilt or whatever. thank you

I would just find a buddy who knows a little bit about wiring. Or just talk to the guys at an auto parts store. If you have never wired anthing before, it would be best to be shown what to do.

The negetive side and positive side shouldn't matter so long as you wire it correctly, Kind of like it doesn't matter how you plug in your lamp at home (upside-down or right-side-up). So long as one side is power and one side is ground. Electricity can flow either way through a lightbulb. I would suggest wiring it to your gaugecluster backlight fuse (reference you owners manual), this would turn it on any time your dash is back-lit.

okay, i found the add a circuit, now my problem is i don't have enough wire for the negative side to find something near the fuse panel to ground it to. does anybody have any idea what to do. should i just splice in a wire for the ground to make it longer. where is the best place to ground it to near the fuse panel?? and also how do i get the plastic surround off around the gauges so i can hide the wire. i mounted it right in the center of my dash above the vents and the radio. thanks

Just make a splice to make the ground wire longer. There are tons of places to get gounds under the steering wheel/on the firewall. The cover under the steering wheel pulls down. Its kinds hard to get down, grab it at the top near the steering wheel and pull. Ive never had the cover on the guages off, so Idk how to get that off.
