Hello all,

I've been reading different topics about traction and differentials and found the term "e-break trick". Could you explain it? How does it work?

Thanks.

If you've got a rear limited slip, you can use your e-brake to engage the diff, essentially giving you a selectable locker (OK so it's not really as effective, but for what people do in a KJ it apparently works fine.)

Basically all you're doing is applying a slight bit of pressure with the e-brake to lock up the diff. Don't try driving around the trails with the e-brake on, obviously, but when you start to lose traction somewhere a bit of e-brake should get you through.

It tricks the limited slip into thinking the wheel that has no traction, has traction. Thus making it send more power to that wheel.

this also works to a point on an open diff too. I'm as open as a church and I use that trick to help me out of spots too.
