Hello all, I've been reading different topics about traction and differentials and found the term "e-break trick". Could you explain it? How does it work? Thanks. |

If you've got a rear limited slip, you can use your e-brake to engage the diff, essentially giving you a selectable locker (OK so it's not really as effective, but for what people do in a KJ it apparently works fine.) Basically all you're doing is applying a slight bit of pressure with the e-brake to lock up the diff. Don't try driving around the trails with the e-brake on, obviously, but when you start to lose traction somewhere a bit of e-brake should get you through. |

It tricks the limited slip into thinking the wheel that has no traction, has traction. Thus making it send more power to that wheel. |

this also works to a point on an open diff too. I'm as open as a church and I use that trick to help me out of spots too. Parakeet |
