Neatus,

It will hold up to briar patches, I"ll have to send you a pic of the hardware cloth I zip-tie to the whole thing before I push my way thru. It protects from scratches and busted lights.

I'll name it now: "The poorman's lens and grill protector...ugly but effective

Hammer,

After looking at it real good this morning, I believe it would withstand about any winch pull like it is if a plate is mounted. Its impossible for me to describe right now but there is a simple way to make a small triangle brace on each side of the bottom mount that would assure it to be strong enough on side pulls.

I'm sure others (as well as myself) will look forward to the end results. Good luck & keep us posted.

or paint the bolts, nor am I going too.

Go to a good hardware store/fastener distributer and u can buy the appropraite bolts already in black. I've done this for a number of applications with different size hardware.

About the winch mount. I have the same brush guard and don't think it's mounted strong enough for a winch. I bought a front-mounted hitch to use for a winch but unfortunately the brush guard takes up the mounting points. I have to do a little fab work to be able to use both but haven't gotten around to it yet.

So you want both? I would worry about a winch on it too.
