Whats best sparkplug tool?

What tool(s) are you using to get to the really difficult sparkplug against the firewall on the passanger side, or are you removing some stuff to get to it?

Seems like people like to remove the coolant overflow bottle to make it much easier to get to. You might try that.

I use a 12" extension with a universal on the end. Slick as you please.

Works just as well as anything else and it only takes a second to remove it.

You do have to move a few things but you can get to it pretty easy with the universal.

What he said, but, use the craftsman extensions that lock to the socket. That way you won't pull the extension out without the socket. :wink:

I just used a 12 inch extension on the spark plug socket. I didn't need to remove the coolant bottle at all. You just need to find the right angle. I just stood on the bumper and came directly from the top. It's actually quite easy once you figure out what angle.

Using a sparkplug socket to get it out and I use a rubber hose that will fit over the end of the sparkplug's ceramic part to put it back it. When I change out my minivans plugs (transverse v6), it's a life saver. Use the socket to finish up. I carry one in my tool bag

I use a Snap-on 8" sparkplug socket (designed for hemispherical heads i.e. Honda, Toyota, Chrysler) w/ a 6" extension to clear the airbox and intake plenum. You will still have to remove the coolant resevoir to get the back plug.

a sparkplug socket, the longest extension you can find and maybe a swivelable ratchet.....and a lot of patience. :lol:

MAC TOOLS, there is no substitute.
