Post subject:  Crossbars for factory roof rails

I picked up a yakima ski rack today but now I need crossbars to attatch it to. Do you guys think I should go with the Mopar factory bars or pick up a thule or yakima system. The mopar bars do not require a tower unit to attatch the cross bars to teh roof rails right? Anyone have some bar units for sale? I tired to use the search feature but I found no help!

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think if you have the Yakima racks you need to use Yakima bars. That is what I have and am very happy with them. I have used them for many years and just get the few parts need to fit on different vehicles.

Here is a pic of the mounts and bars.

Post subject:  mighty mounts

With yakima's mighty mounts my powderhound rack can fit on most factory crossbars (or so I read).

I'm going to need something. I hope to hear from someone who is using the mopar crossbars.

Hey, that's my mounting system too!!! It's great! I can throw all sorts of lumber, sheet goods...you name it! I like the fact that it straight over the width. The Mopar looks like it curves through the width.

I have Yakimas on LowRider mounts and like them. One of the things I like best is that this is the third rig to run them.

The Yakima accessories will generally fit any cross bar unless it is really large.
