Post subject:  Back seat lighting on 02-04 models

This might be posted somewhere but I haven’t been able to locate anything about it.

I have 02 Liberty; I don’t like the lack of light in the back seat. There is no light back for when you are looking for something. I know it has been address in the 05 and forward models. I’ve looked for the light fixture in junk yards with no luck. I was wondering if anyone else has installed a light fixture in the ceiling of the rear seat. I know I will have to cut into the headliner and run some wire. Is their a write up something to give me an idea? What light fixtures have been used the match the headliner color? Thanks any help will do, especially pictures.

I know there is a write-up on here somewhere about this. I downloaded the pictures when it was posted but forgot to save the thread. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: I couldn't find it but if someone else knows where the write-up is and could post it, I'd like to save it as well.

I have the light left over from my evic install as well. I may be putting in a drop down monitor so i have no plans to use the light again.

You pay shipping and its yours.

The part number for the assembly (bezel, stationary lamp, flashlight, bulb, & battery) is 5183445AA and the retail is only $26.60 on it which seems like a decent deal considering what it is.

Thanks for the part number, I ordered one will let you know how it works out, the dealer quoted me $20.56, so thought I would give it a try

Let me know how that turns out as there seems to be some sort of issue with StarParts with this item. Seems that the part number I gave is correct and StarParts lists all the items as part of that number but the flashlight by itself has a retail of $59. Odd, but not unheard of but I am wondering if they didn't screw up the catalog somewhere down the line.

I received the light today and it does not include the flashlight, just the housing with a small built in light, comparing the shape of the flashlight type and the libby dome light, they appear to be interchangeable, I am not sure about the wiring plug but looking at the new light the connectors seems to be the same. I did not want to remove my libby light until I am sure I can get the flashlight portion, if you have a part # for the flashlight please post it

Thanks
Bob

Ahh, a classic case of someone asleep at DCX. The flashlight was supposed to be in the package according to StarParts, but that's about typical. Some of the screw ups at Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge parts departments are not the fault of the employees, but I digress. The part number for the flashlight itself is 5183459AA and as I said before, it retails for $59.50 which sort of makes the whole deal not worth it in my opinion.

I agree with the price of the flashlight, a few weeks ago someone had the flashlight on ebay, sold for around ten bucks, should of grabbed it then, I am not going to spend $60, but will keep my eyes open, I have a friend who has a body shop that does a lot of rental car repairs, perhaps he will get a total.

Anyone have one of this laying around or something similar I can buy from you? I don't want to give DC anymore of my money.
