Well, on Friday, my check engine light came on after I got out of school. So I went to work afterwards and then dropped it off at the dealer (shoulda gone to AAA instead darn) to get looked at on Saturday morning. Turns out that the cooling fan got out of balance and due to that the amperage (sp?) got all screwed up. As a result, the fan and the wiring harness let go. THe result? $910 in repairs. Thats a Frankenlift. |

what did they have to replace? if it was just the fan / motor / wiring harness, that should have been around $300 tops. stealership had to replace all of that on mine a while back and i asked what the repiar cost would have been if i had to pay, they said around $300. |

I think there was a specific TSB to handle the electrical gremlins in the cooling fan. |

I wouldn't jump right to "scammed," but if they replaced a fan and the wiring harness, what were the part costs - labor costs? Does your invoice itemize what they did by item/hour? I had a friend have to get new dual fans for their intrepid and it too was insanely expensive...I was surprised, and that was at an indep. shop. JP |
