That about sums it up, it seems to be primarily a truck engine. They just wacked 2 banks off the 4.7 v8 and made a v6. The 4.7 is a good motor, so I would espect the same from the 3.7. I know when I sold dodges back in 04, that I was impressed how much excelleration the 1500 ram 2-wheel drive short bed has with the 3.7, the 2-wheel drive dakota as well. The 4x4 versions weren't near as peppy. Actually my kj is peppier than a 4x4 dakota with the 3.7. They seem to be a good motor, we had very little problems out them, more complaints with the auto trannies in the dakota. |

Ah, forgot about the Nitro. Durango's 3.7L, I thought had been dropped, but I see it is still available. |

I cannot believe this engine is used in that many cars and trucks and they still do not have any aftermarket stuff. A throttle body, cams, and headers(hopefully) is about all you can get. All I want is a programmer.. |

You just need a B&G flash. It will really wake up the 3.7. It's about $450. Basically you can get everything for performance for the 3.7 now. My headers shipped Friday. Now intakes, throttle bodies, cams, forged pistons and rods, headers, cat-backs, and programming are all available. Plus torque converters and shift kits for the 45RFE. It's been a long, difficult battle though. You wouldn't believe some the things I've heard from the vast number of manufacturers I contacted about performance parts over the past 5 1/2 years. Ridiculus things like "75% of Liberties are bought by women who never upgrade their vehicles, so we won't be making any upgrades for them." |

Forgot to mention, you can also swap your gears for 4.10s. You could also do pistons, rods, and a supercharger with 218 cams, or a turbo with 224 cams, and a matched set of FMS blue top injectors, with a custom B&G flash, or maybe some 212 cams with a 120 hp direct shot of N2O. Over 250 rwhp and 300 rw torque is really fun in a straight line in a KJ. But it was a good thing it was only there when I had the N2O engaged. It was actually more like 290 rwhp and 350 rw torque once you factor in the ram air, and the difference between the Superflow that was calibrated the same day it was tuned on it, and a Dynojet corrected to put 20% of 210 hp to the ground as it looks like some the manufacturers do. Of course if you go that far you will have to do something about your suspension to keep it streetable unless you go with the giggly juice. It all depends on how much you want to spend. |

Looks like I may have spoken too soon about the headers. I'm being told that they are waiting for a bracket, and it will be another week before the headers ship that they said had shipped on the 27th. |
