So guys, in what case would you use warm or hot air conditioning? Is it better than just using the plain heater during cold weather when the windows fog up easily, or is the air conditioning not meant to be used hot? |

Using the air conditioner with the defroster is not a problem, in fact when you turn your control to the defrost mode it should turn on the air conditioner automatically. The reason it does it that way is that the AC also drys the air out, so if it is humid out and you are trying to de-fog the windows the dry air will clear them faster than moist air. Hope this answers your question. |

You should use the A/C in defrost mode throughout the winter. This does two things for your Liberty: 1.) As corwyyn pointed out the A/C system removes the humidity in the air. Without that moisture your windows should stay mainly frost free even on really cold / wet days where it's snowing or sleeting outside. 2.) When you use the A/C the pumps cycle the fluid in the system to help prevent leaks due to long durations of inoperation. This really comes in handy in the summers when you need the A/C to cool your vehicles interior to an acceptable level for comfort. |
