| Post subject: | Rack and Pinion Leak |
Has anyone experienced leaking from their power steering rack? I have a 2002 with 21,000 miles and a Frankenlift on it and found oil on the driver side tie rod boot. Upon checking the power steering reservoir, I found it low. Could the lift be causing undue stress on this component? Since lifting my Liberty, little things like this keep coming up. |

Check the high pressure line too. That blew on mine and some of the others have had the same thing happen. |

My unit had to be replaced. It was still under warrenty. I doubt it is because of the lift. My power steering started making noises like it was low on fluid, it was. Dealer said it was the unit, not any hoses. I had a 2002, not anymore. Don't remember the miles it had when it failed. |
