Newbie here, my parents just bought an '07 Liberty Limited auto and while we were looking around the engine, we simply could not locate the dipstick to check the transmission fluid levels. According to the owner's manual, it says its right next to the oil dipstick. I could not find it anywhere! I even got up onto a chair to look towards the firewall and no telltale red thing marked transmission. Thanks for the help! |

There was something I read somewhere, about new vehicles not having tranny dipsticks, you have to take it to the dealer to have it checked Bob |

Why did you think the handle was red? Isn't everyone's OEM Tranny Dipstick handle, yellow? |

There are a lot of automatics out there that use syn fluid and don't have a dip stick. |

I heard about this too. It must be some trickery by the OEM's to generate more business with the dealership service bays I tell you. |

I was thinking cars usually have yellow sticks for oil, red ones for transmission. At least, all the ones I've dealt with has had it like that. I guess jeeps are different. |

Welcome aboard Isis! Sorry you can't find the tranny stick. Perhaps they removed it for the 07? I don't know of any other 07 owners on here yet. But maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places. I look forward to the post of your 07 engine bay pict. How did your passenger window break so soon? Night at the Roxbury? ![]() |

![]() I'll post a pic once its back. Thanks! Dealer use only???? What happens after warranty????? I see some laws suits going to happen here If I can't check my fluid levels. Looks like if the fluid gets low and I'm not able to check it, then DC will be responsible for new trannies and all repairs no matter what the milage is. |

Jeeps are different. That's what makes them Jeeps.....at least for now unless DC keeps changing them to fit their Chrysler line. |
