K the lights are already on, but...........

Lets just say first off I F'N hate electricity with a passion! So I put four Hella FF50s on the front of my rack and two on the rear. The directions have you wire the one wire from the switch to your lights. I assume so you can't run them with high beams and what not? I wasn't really sure. So I just ran that wire to the battery. I smoked a couple wires a couple of times during the install! :oops: But figured it out since i had a couple wires crossed. Well I guess my question is do yous think I should throw an inline fuse on the wires running from the battery to the switch? If so how many amps?

Hey I was doing the same thing a short while ago and there were quite a few posts on this board about the right way to go about it.. You will need a relay to drive the lights not just direct to the battery... You will need to have a relay that is capable of handling the amps that the lamps will pull... Do what I did bolt the lights on then go to an auto electrician and pay him to connect the wires and relay. You can fry your electrics messing around in the "dark"

No I figured it out already. I used teh supplied wiring harness including the relay and all but there is another wire from the switch that hass to go to the wire for your headlamps. This is the wire i need to know if I need to put an inline fuse on or if it is fine just been hard wired straight to my battery. Everything is done and works. just wondering about an inline fuse to be on the safe side?? :?

Yes this should have a fuse. A two or three amp will do fine.

The wire is there so the lights will only work when the High beams are on. It is a law in most states aux lighting needs to be wired that way. The nice thing about having them wired to your high beams is they will go out when you throw the low beams on. With out redundantly having to hit the switch for the Hellas.
