I will be doing this next friday after I help a buddy fix his ABS sensor in his POS 99 Jetta. Anyways, anything in particular I should be looking for or using for radiator flush products? I was just gonna go to AutoZone and get whatever they had... Ill prob also do the diff fluids. Anything special there? Do i need a gasket or is RTV the magic there.... I already have the 75W-90 sludge. Thanks in advance |

I wouldn't even bother flushing it out as doing that usually doesn't work all that well. Make sure you have a good brand extended life anti-freeze though. On the rear diff you just need some good quality high temp RTV, I use the copper type on a lot of stuff and never had a leak. I think some stores will carry a gasket though and others have used them so it is up to you if you can find a gasket. Have a posi? If so, don't forget the additive for that. |

A gasket for the rear diff is really nice. If you do get one, be sure to clean the old RTV off really good. If you leave any one there it may cause a leak.. If you cannot find any at parts stores, I ordered mine from here.. http://www.ring-pinion.com/ |

Great, thanks a lot guys. I'm going to get into this today. And, no, no coolant issues yet but I'm trying to avoid that monster..... |

I believe the coolant is "supposed" to be good for 100K miles. Sucks that the hoses go out way before that. |
