Hey everyone,

Just wondering how everyone is jacking up their KJs after lifting them. Found out tonight that my KJ is too high for the Crapsman jack to use the recommended jack points. Kinda puts me in a bind for that second set of wheels and tires. Really don't want to have to buy another jack, but I gotta do what I gotta do, I guess.

Also, while under the KJ tonight, I noticed the smallest of dents (and I mean SMALL) in the rear lower control arm on the passenger side towards the front. The corners are still intact and not affected. Just wondering if that should be of concern or not. I'd say the dent is about the size if not smaller than a dime or penny.

Thanks!!!!

What kind of jack do you have? A floor jack? Or some bottle jack? Just keep some pieces of 2x6's in the jeep and put them under the jack. I never jack from the stock points anyway. I just use the front skid plate.. Thats with a floor jack though. With the stock jack in the jeep, ive got to use some wood under it(that Ive yet to put in the jeep, lol)..

Ok, so I found this link in the newbies forum.

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=13099

So for the rear, it's the bottom of the pumpkin, and for the front it's the crossmember that is towards the back of the front diff, correct?

Yeah, it's a Craftsman floor jack. It's got pretty high lift, but not high enough! I was thinking about the wood idea too.

Thanks, man!

You'll either need a new jack or take a 2x4 along with you to place under the stock one.

As for the dents...shouldn't be a problem at all. With serious off roading your lower control arms will get VERY banged up. If you just have a couple small dents it is probably nothing to worry about.

Ok. There's just the one small dent. May not be until tomorrow that I get the pic taken.

Thanks a ton, Skyjump. I was wondering if it was worth worrying about when they look pretty exposed come time when I give up my "wheelin' virginity"!

 :P :D

Sweet, thanks for taking the time to post the pics! Since your Jeep has already been floating once, it would be sweet to Photoshop out the jack and make it look like the cat is lifting the KJ!!!

LOL!!! I HATE when that happens! My dog is like that. She loves being outside, but get her in the car and she knows something's up! It's just hammer down to get to the vet/groomer before any accidents! LOL.

:P

I take my cat with me when I drive back to Ohio. Last time, I let him roam freely and it wasn't a problem. I placed the back seats down, put down plastic trash bags and placed his litter box down. Most of the time, I just keep him in his carrier and he sleeps.
