Does anyone have a Rusty's lift with Rancho's on the rear and/or front? When I went to order a lift today, the Rusty's people said that the Rancho's were too short. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, Wes |

Thanks, Wes Uhh.. There not to short.. I dont know if rustys sells his lifts with rancho or not though? I believe he uses OME struts and rustys rear shocks. You can get the kit without the rear shocks and order ranchos from another place like All J's.. ![]() |

the only way they would be too short is if Rusty's is referring to the stock replacement rancho's for the KJ... which would be the same length as stock... however, the 17004's which everyone usually puts on are actually for the dodge durango, so they are significantly longer than the stock rear shocks... the fronts don't matter... they are all the same length... but i think the OME (old man emu) struts that come with the rusty's kit are a little bit longer than stock, but not long enough to get upper ball joint contact... I actually just got done replacing my rustys rear shocks with some of the ranchos a couple hours ago! When I put al's a-arms on and a spacer in the rear I noticed one of the rustys shocks was blown for sure. I had a feeling cause i was hearing a weird noise from the passenger rear. All I can say is that the ranchos are outstanding!!! they compliment the rustys coil lift very well! I wish i would have known this when I oredered the kit to begin with. |

Yep, the Rusty Techs will let you order the Rancho only after giving you a lecture on how the Ranchos are too short. He IS talking about the stock replacements. When you give him the actual part number for the lifted KJ, he will tell you those are for a Dodge Durango (which they are). He will then lecture you on how the valves on the Durango shocks are "completely different" then the KJs. I got tired of the entire thing and just took the shocks that came with the lift and saved the extra $60. I have no problems with the shocks that come with the lift but I have read several people who have. Seems to be the luck of the draw. I have also heard of people having trouble with the Rancho shocks so I take it with a grain of salt. |
