here is what I got We just had the recall done on our '03 limited 4X4 about a month or so ago up until then no problems now.. when we hit a speed bump dead on ,both wheels at the same time we get a squeeky rubbing grindy noise if we hit them very very slow nothing if we hit them one wheel at a time nothing the noise is comming from the front Has this happend to any body else? I can see no loose or "out of place" parts I will be hitting all the non lubed joints with som WD40 to see if that helps Keep in mind that we have 39,000+ miles with all stock suspension never replaced a part only thing that has been done is a clevis lift but that was 4-6 months ago are the OE struts hydro or gas? could it be a bad strut? bad rubber spring iso. pad? loose bolt? all of the above? none of the baove? keep in mind in order to get it to make the noise we need to compress both the front struts/springs at the same time I am thinking that it may be dirt in a bushing but I have been wrong |

My bet is its the anti sway bar bushings are squeeking. It seems to happen to me when the temps. get down around 40. or colder, and just as you described with the speed bumps. Squirt some good synthetic grease into the bushings, and the squeak should go away. |

since yiou had the recall work done and now the temps might be dropping somewhat down there in LA, it could be the bushings for the control arms perhaps...but I would WD-40, grease lube everything, or at least make sure everything is properly greased-lubed... |

DO NOT use WD-40. It eats up rubber bushings. Use silicone spray instead. Like others have said it is most likely your swaybar bushings. There are usually a bunch of threads this time of year (cause of the cold weather) explaining exactly what you have. So go get a can of silicone spray and some grease (synthetic would be best) and get to work.

I have an 05 Renny and I have the same type of noise and I thought it was my sway bar bushings. I took the sway bar off and when wheeling noise was still there. So I had some buddys rock the jeep back and forth and found the noise coming from my upper control arm bushings. I would check there. Parakeet |

Yup, yup. Good advice - I hit ALL the bushings up front when I get under there with my silicone spray. |

Where do you all buy your silicone spray? I went to advance auto the other day and couldnt find any? I found some silicone in a can, but it was a high flow type deal for electrical connectors and such. Could find just the spray.. Ill try some other auto stores around here I guess..

It will break down rubber bushings over time...maybe not the first time you use it. Their website even says that its ingredients are a "secret." Why chance it when we know silicone spray is 100% safe? BTW, the Jeep website says my stock Liberty came with 9.2" of clearance so it must be true!

Walmart. I can't believe an autopart store didn't have it. It is almost as common as wd-40 |

Just picked up a can of CRC silicone lubricant, $1.77 at my local Wallyworld. I was getting a sqeaking/chirping noise when I would make right turns or go over bumps with one wheel (either one, just singly). Came out of Walmart and hit all the bushings I could get to and the chirp is gone. I once again have a nice, quiet Jeep to drive to work in
