So, I was cleaning the underside of my Jeep with some of that Power Purple stuff. I don't know how or why I did it, but I used too high of a cleaner to water ratio and it ended up eating the finish off of my fuel tank skid plate. Not that big of an issue. Since the Power Purple is a degreaser, I'm assuming the coating on the skids is a petroleum based coating.

So, I'm going to get them all re-coated (since I know how to pull the finish off real easy now). Should I get them powder coated or Line-Xed? I'm leaning towards Line-X, but if it's not going to hold up any better than powder coating I'm not going to waste the extra money. Can anyone give me an approximation of what they think it would cost to have all the pieces Line-Xed? Prices for powder coating would be nice too. Like I said, give me a guess... I just want to have an idea of roughly how much jack I need when I head up there. Thanks a bunch!

I would rattle can them for a few bucks and then use the same to touch them up every so often. Save the money for some other mods that way. If you gotta chose between PC and Line-x I would go PC and call around your area for quotes. I would guess $50-75 on the tank skid as they would have to do inside and out for a good job.

I am parcell to the Duplicolor spray bomb bedliner spray.
I used it on my Nissan tailgate have most of the underside of the Jeep done
and just did my rock rails with it.
You can get it at any parts store for about 7 or 8 bucks a can. Adheres well
and lasts.
