Tell me what yall think I just whent through the long grulling process of installing rear spring relocators ,upper rear control arm relocators, and a trac bar relocation all from Nth degree mobility on my TJ I am using the same shocks and springs from befor they are skyjacker and seem to be OK now the TJ rides better than the KJ The KJ is all stock with right at 40K on it ,2003 limited, it seems to have a real bad "chop" and seems to not take bumps as well as I thought it did could this just be worn struts/shocks? |

Very possible I would get some of the chop(if we are talking about the same thing) even on my 05 w/ hardly any miles. I got the Frankenlift and I don't feel it near as much. Think about replacing them they really aren't bad to install. I pull the front struts in a 15 a side. Parakeet |

Parakeet what about compressing the springs to remove the top plates? I have a spring compressor that I have used a few time on the TJ it said that it was for macpherson (spelling ,bad I know) struts would it work? It is the type that is like 2 screws with a clamp thing on each end. If not then I have done quit a bit of business with a local 4X4 shop that has a brand new wall mounted one that I am sure he would let me use one after noon. I was thinking OME medium duty springs with rancho struts and shocks? I have no plans for a winch or after market bumper and I plan to only use the KJ for light off roading when the wife gets a new ride next year that can tow the TJ |

I don't remember how the strut went together or came apart as I had a buddy use his spring compressor. Total time of pulling the strut assembly, R&R'ing the strut, and reinstalling the strut assembly was about 45 mins. and I'm not a hardcore mechanic type. Oh yea and that was just one side. I was going to take the strut assembly to a shop and have them R&R the strut but ended up having my friend do it. Parakeet |
