Found this at Carolina Rock Shop. Has anyone used this and if so how is it and how much? It looks really cool and eliminates having to use another bumper. ![]() |

It does look good but keep in mind that just as with the recever mount you give up aproach angles and as I have posted befor if you wheel steep hilly terain like I do a mount like that is out I think that nolakj has already had his front hich hitting dirt and that would be out and down even more I like to use the term "low hanging fruit" because at some piont some thing on a trail will want to eat it and the low hanging fruit always goes first |

I agree, looks nice but...I've got a bunch of scrapes in my bumper around there. At least the plastic bends, the steel would stop me. |

My point exactly I wander about cutting the center out of the plastic and going from there? Putting higher up? |

I have thought of doing something similiar, but with the mount on top of the flat piece of the bumper to keep a good approach angle. |

Turn it upside down and mount it from the top. ?. Would that restrict the airflow to the radiator enough to worry about? |

I was thinking about cutting out the bumper where you would mount the plate ,if you needed one, and put it in there I know bring your jeep to my house and let me cut it out and see what happens ![]() truly I was thinking about a mount on top of the front hich something like a big pcs of good angle welded to the top side of the hich and fairlead mounted to the front side of angle with hook/shackle still in hich |

that Winch Mount was owned by a member here..I believe his ID was Redwolf....but anyway...he tore the whole thing off while wheeling at uwharrie national forest..its really not a good design..hangs way to low ..unless you just want to look cool and never wheel..then your good to go |

Well, I guess that's that. I didn't think about it hanging so low.I don't wheel hard, but I sure don't want to take a chance of ripping it off on the trail. |

I guess you would call that a rock catcher, similar to a cow catcher on a train ![]() |

An option that nolakj and i took....with great results I might add...I don't think anyone got pics of it when i was down in Hammond, but if you can get there it was quite the fun area to wheel.... |

That was Daniel (RedWolf)'s Jeep. He later replaced that configuration with an ARB. |

Yep as Wally said, Redwolf bent it in real bad at uwharie, we all thought he bent his frame when we heard the hit!!! It was back in the fall of 'o3 if I remember right. Here is the after affect: ![]() I believe it happened after he dove into a mud hole after this decline if I remember right. ![]() |
