I have an 02 Sport with Rusty's Suspension lift and 245/75/16 BFG Muds. The ABS light comes on for no reason at all. I have the brakes cleaned of mud but it still does it. How do I fix this!!!!!!!!!?????

You probably need to pull the sensors and whipe it off then. If they are just slightly dirty they will act up. Jack it up and look under there and take it out.

If they are clean you may have a bad one.

i have the same thing happening in my wifes car :x . and found out that the alternator wasn't putting out the amp needed to run it so it would shut off the ABS and then the light would come on, the brakes still worked but ABS did not!

dose it happen some times when you have your foot on the brake?or when you are drawing power like lights and stuff like that?

your tier size shouldn't effect that at all. i would assume it was a electrical issue more then dirt or tire size!!! try spraying some electrical cleaner in the alternator and tighten your wire connections and see what happens.alot of dirt will get in there when you are wheelin or just driveing dirt roads and wires come lose from vibration. thats what ended up worked for me. and take it to a auto zone or napa and have them test your battery and altanater its free there. thats where i would start before takeing it to a dealer or something. well that depends on the warrenty!!

The sensor at the wheel is probably going bad. This is a common problem on every vehicle. I'm not sure on the cost but I don't think it is to much as I have never had to deal with this one.

Another reason why i do NOT purchase any vehicle with ABS.

I hosed down the brakes for a few minutes each. Just before the ABS light comes on, it starts having the thumping effect on the pedal at even the slightest braking. After that, the light comes on and there is no more thumping. I dont think the battery is going bad because I replaced the stock one with an Optima Yellow Top in the middle of the summer. I will have to get my tire company to check it out because im taking the KJ to get the tires rotated and alligned tomarro. I will see what they say. Thanks guys!
