I'm a little confused on some of the specs I get doing a side by side comparison. According to KBB I've got about 1.5 inches more clearance in my '02 KJ than what you get stock on an '03 or newer. Is this right |

The early 02's are higher, they lowered them due to rollover. and i do believe u can fit 245/75/16 stock with little rubbing. I would really like to know if i can fit 245/75/17's on mine, ive never heard anyone say, ome people say i can and some say i cant?!?!?! |

I wouldn't go larger that 245/70/16. 245/75/16 would rub pretty bad especially for off roading. |

I thought 70 rubbed more than 75 b/c it is wider. |

the width is the same, 245 across, but 70 is lower by about an inch I believe. it's a percentage of the width. Justin |

It was done by spring rate. A ploy by environazis to try to keep us off the trails... Mine has been lifted all but 3 months of its life (lifted Sep '01) and it has farbetter stability in corners than the factory hieght brand new explorers we use her on the academy as patrol vehicles! |

Very helpful to know. I don't know if my stock tires have enough tread for this coming winter and it's good to know what my options are. |

You can always check the tire section. There is a great tire sizing chart here...http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=958 |
