| Post subject: | Check engine light question |
Hi I am new here and a new owner of a '04 KJ. My check engine light came on and these are the codes that it gives me for the light coming on. P0139 P0159 P2098 Are these anything to worry about? Can I fix it or is it something that needs to be fixed at a dealer? Thanks for the help this a great site by the way. Thoughts of good info. |

P0139 slow o2 sensor response/response not as expected P0159 slow o2 sensor response/Oxygen sensor response slower than minimum required switching frequency P2098 not listed in my book Typo? P0298 not listed either? P02## series all deal with injectors shorting or fuelpump control curcuits I would check your o2 sensor connections for corrosion (they are the sensors sticking out of the exhaust downpipes below the Catalytic converters) follow the wires till you find the plug, unplug and check/clean them then try again. Your mileage will start to suck bad if this is not corrected, if cleaning doesn't help, then replace the sensor. But I do not know how to test which one is causing the code. Sorry. |

thanks I'll check that and see if that works. I double checked that third code and it does say it is P2098. So I guess I will have to look on the internet and see if I can find it. thanks again for the help |
