When I purchased my KJ two years ago I wanted a daily driver and family hauler that had legitimate off-road capability. The Liberty fit this niche perfectly and I have been 100% satisfied. However, what I was really looking for, I suppose, was a lengthened 4-door hardtop Wrangler, which didn’t then exist.

Now that we have the JK that is longer, has sprouted two additional doors, and the surface road driving refinement has been tremendously improved, I am no longer certain that I would be interested in a Liberty. Yet Jeep will be serving up the new Liberty before too long.

My question is, does anybody care?

I will take a HARD look at the 4 door wrangler next time around. In the Liberty's favor though is price. I purchased my 06 kj last summer for 17,995 (sport 2wd some options). I would think a 4 door wrangler would be bumping 30k. So if the wife goes shopping with me...it will be another liberty

I voted for the 4 door Wrangler because you didn't have:

1. Keep my Libby because I love it---This would have been my choice
2. New Jeep that we have not seen yet that keeps in the 'tradition' of Jeep.
3. New Libby that we have not seen that goes back to the Libby...ie. Tire on the back.
:P

Since the last two don't apply to me,I chose the liberty for a couple of reasons, they are priced lower, and the wrangler will always be not only higher priced, but to me will always have the noisy sound of tin rattling, while driving, and the closing of the doors. They are more for people who have less concern for comfort and luxury. Not a bashing for the wrangler,I'd just rather have the libby for a daily driver, and a wrangler for serious off roading.Just my 2cents.

Scratch one vote for the kk, I messed up and voted on it. Oops. I will keep my 03. It's just about paid off so the lift and mods are real close. We have an XK, The kk is just a ------offspring. I have always like the looks of the real KJ. Why call the kk a liberty?, it ought to be labeled the BK (baby commander)

I just about gave in and went with the new JK rubicon but backed off due to the engine. I also have the choice of retiring or keep working and pay for the JK. Not a hard choice! :D

Jeep of the future for me and off roading would be none
That is I think jeep has lost sight of what off roading is and has decided to "tell the sheeple what they need"
I would buy a comander or maby a crd grand but only for a DD and tow rig not to wheel

Look dont get me wrong if a 4 door jk fits for others great if the 2 door jk works for others great
but when I look at them from my stand point they dont work off road
they both have the same down sides and on is just to long to take on the trail

I will keep the KJ because I will be the only person out in my area wheelin one and no doubt I will keep my TJ because it......
well just works for me

This is just my .02 and I mean no offence to any one

I chose the JK 4-door because if I was in the market for a Jeep and these were out then realistically this is what I would have gone for but I don't think I would buy another new Jeep. If I was going to get another Jeep it would be something older along the lines of a Jeepster Commando. However, I won't be getting rid of my KJ and will probably be modifying it for the next 10 years or so before I'm "done".

I am going to keep my KJ until it is absolutly unrepairable but I may also spring for a Ruby in a few years or(I know I am gonna get flak for this) an FJ cause I like em both and have driven them both. Only gripe about the FJ is it has some mad blind spots.

I chose the kk. Had to, dont like the 4 door on the wrangler and the fj....well i dont like it. And it seems that all new jeeps are not really jeeps, come on a front wheel drive jeep

My CRD is paid for and now the modding begins. Might get a grand CRD next year...

When I bought my last KJ Jeep came out with the 4 door Wrangler. So, I test drove it. Didn't like it for a family vehicle so I got the Libby. It fits my needs just fine. Now if they came out with a Liberty Rubicon, I would be very interested!

I bought a 2 door JK Rubicon back in January, my father bought a KJ Latitude Edition about a week before...The KK is pretty fecking ugly, the LWB JK should just be called the "Unlimited" - not Wrangler Unlimited-wranglers have 2 doors-period. I love the vehicle, but I don't like that they call it the Wrangler. Much like how I don't like that they call it the Jeep Compass-it should be the Chrysler Compass. They need to bring the renegade package back for the KJ, and make it be a trim package comparable to the Rubicon-big tires, small lift, high-articulation suspension, full skids, good bumpers, you know, basically what everybody does if they're serious anyway.

You're streched 4 door-hard top wrangler WAS the XJ (with a bit of work-like the KJ), until they canned it
I didn't vote, because I just stated my views above.

The Unlimited JK is the offspring of the TJ & XJ. A 4 door Jeep w/ Great potential. 4 removable doors, removable roof, folding windshield and all that on a Real Frame not a unibody.
What do a lot of XJ owners do to their Jeeps? They make removable doors, they add subframes to support the suspension and strengthen the unibody, they four link/coil over the rear, they cut and chop the roofs off and add in roll cages. Hmmmm......sounds a lot like what the JK already is. Makes me wonder why I keep throwing money at my beat up old XJ?!?!? :?

As for the KJ Liberty, I think we have seen the most it will be w/ IFS. (32's, 4.10's, 2.5-3" lift) I would be real surprised if a company will persue making a radically different front IFS lift system for it in the future. I doubt we will see a stronger front diff for it to make it live w/ 33's or larger. I think the KJ is a Great, capable 4x4 for a lot of people and a Lot of trails. I like mine a lot and I am pretty sure I will keep one around for a long time to come.
I could care less about another version of the same old IFS Jeep for wheeling purposes and I would probably only consider a new IFS Jeep for DD duty. (Unless they come out w/ something that can Really accept the big mods and the aftermarket runs with it  )

I think I will just keep on planning my Future Jeep, Unlim JK build w/ built D60's, 4:1 (or lower) transfer case, 37's, Diesel conversion, etc. etc. etc......... I am pretty sure it will make for a pretty capable rig that will haul my family around and I will like it.

I picked none of the above. I don't think Jeep's suck but I don't really like the look of the new KK(at least the spy photos). The JK is overpriced unless they start doing rebates plus the gas mileage rating isn't very good.

What might I get if I have to get rid of my KJ? Probably a Ford Ranger FX4, maybe a Hummer H3...

I don't mind the new KK, but I love the new Wrangler Unlimiteds. Today I was thinking of my list of mods for one.

I picked none, because IF I buy another Jeep it would have to be the Trailhawk concept. That would be on awsome daily driver. Otherwise the new Jeep lineup is kind of sad.
