Post subject:  How much abuse can the Moab wheels take?

I'm seeing about two or three scratches on each of my Moab wheels, OK, that's not much by the club's standards. I was wondering when is a good time to replace them (hopefully before they crack). More like, if I take enough out of the part of the rim where the tire beads are glued to the rim, will that eventually cause sudden loss of pressure?

What are the warning signs I should look out for, in other words, seeing as I'm not careful enough to always position my tires on the rocks and I do gouge them up each run :D

If you are talking about the edge of the rim then I don't think you have a lot to worry about. I have seen some good damage and it did not break the bead on the tire.

me thinks I'm a victim of misnomers, what's a moab rim? Would it be the rubicon TJ rims (like mine), or something else?

Exactly, those are the rims that come standard on a Rubicon TJ

Well, the bead/edge of mine are all chewed up, and as for damage, they will sustain a bit of damage... Just as Skyjump about how they can with stand supporting the Jeep on its side... I chewed mine up good trying to right myself last weekend. I almost joined Darby in the forward flip club!
