My wife's KJ key was stolen.

Has anyone had to replace their Sentry key? Where did you get it? Did you have to get two new keys?
How much did it cost? Did you program it yourself?

I'm getting a new remote from Ebay.

Thanks.

I just had to replace my spare key and remote, I lost mine. I ordered them off of eBay, including shipping I spent $30 plus another $20 for the dealer to program the key. My Jeep didn't have Sentry, but the new key I order does...but it works fine. The dealer gave me a quote of $130 for key, remote, and labor. I love eBay.

Key from DCX is about $45 and the charge for them to program was about $60. Takes them all of 2-3 minutes to program the new keys

If you only have one key you will have to have a dealership program the new keys.

If you currently have 2 keys you can program a 3rd key yourself by doing one of those turn the key 3 times, stand on your head, and cluck like a chicken things(and I do strongly recommend having a 3rd or 4th key).

You can look online to try to get the key cheaper. I actually got my 2nd key from a local locksmith for $35 already cut, and then had the dealership program it for me. A few days later I got a 3rd key and programed it myself.

This is what I found on eBay

OEM Jeep Liberty R.F.I.D. Transponder Key Blank / 2005 $16.95

The picture of the key dosn't look like the one I have. It also has "Strattec" embosed on it.

Is this the real McCoy?

For a total of around 29 bucks I got a blank key and a new remote.
I'll have the key programmed at the dearler next week when I go for inspection.

Send me a private message. I've got two uncut Jeep keys. (ie, the real McCoy) $15 each +$2 to mail via Paypal.

I got a replacement key off Ebay for under 19 bucks including shipping and had it cut at a local hardware store. Dealer reprogrammed both of my keys for 25 bucks.
